ISLAMABAD:Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is adamant to continue boycott of sessions of the parliament ahead of Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President\u2019s arrival on Wednesday.
\nChief of PTI addressed a press conference in the federal capital today during which he announced to not attend the joint session summoned tomorrow which will be addressed by Erdogan.
\nHe said that PTI would not be attending parliament proceedings until case over Panama Leaks was being heard by the Supreme Court (SC).
\nKhan held Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif responsible for political organisation\u2019s boycott.
\nImran Khan said that PTI was not \u2018liable\u2019 to attend parliament sessions after authoritarian rule of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
\nWhile talking about meeting of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, vice-chairman of PTI with Turkish ambassador to Pakistan earlier this week, Khan said that the envoy had urged the party to attend the joint session.
\nErdogan is to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday on a two-day visit.
\nRecep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan for a two-day official visit this week. The government plans to convene a special joint sitting of parliament on Nov 17 so the Turkish president can address lawmakers.
\nCriticising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, he said in the past seven months it had become clear that the government had changed its position several times in relation to its corruption.
\nHe added that proceedings in the apex court would further show how much the government has lied.
\nOn the Panamagate case that is being heard in the Supreme Court, the PTI chairman said the government was telling more lies to hide its previous deceits.
\nHe further said that his party trusted the court and would accept however it decides to proceed on the matter.
\nPakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique while talking to media condemned the decision of PTI to boycott the joint session of the Parliament.
\n\u201cAfter meeting Ambassador of Turkey, PTI should have attended the joint session of Parliament,\u201d Rafique said.
\n\u201cImran Khan is a threat to the national benefit,\u201d PML-N leader added.
\nRafique also lauded the bond between people of Pakistan and Turkey. \u201cLove and respect to Pakistanis is taught in the Turkish homes and I feel proud whenever I visit Turkey,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
