Islamabad (Online): Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs will undertake a three day official visit to Paris, starting
\nfrom today (Tuesday).
\nAccording to press release issued by the ministry here on Monday, Senator Dar accepted the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France and the UK government to participate in the OGP
\nSummit being held from 6th to 9th December in Paris.
\nDuring his visit, the Minister will attend the OGP Summit and the closing ceremony of the 75th Anniversary Celebration of French Agency of
\nDevelopment (AFD) (likely to be hosted by French President Hollande) .The Finance Minister will also speak at a variety of events, attend roundtables
\nwith global leadership in the area of action against fiscal fraud and improving governance.
\nThe Finance Minister will attend Open Government Partnership (OGP) summit where leaders of over seventy countries will debate on principles of
\ntransparency, accountability and citizen participation which contributes to good governance and socio-economic development of member countries.
\nLaunched in 2011, OPG is a multilateral initiative aimed at promoting the principles of open and transparent government through civic consultation
\nand participation, reinforcing public integrity and the fight against corruption.
\nRound tables will be held under the themes,\u201cCollective Ambitions and the Future of Open Government\u201d, \u201cOpen Government as a Force for
\nDemocracy\u201d, \u201cBuildingTrust in Government, Anti-Corruption\u201d; \u201cThe Time for High Level OGP Commitments\u201d, and \u201cCitizen Movements and Democratic Transitions\u201d.
\nThe Minister is also likely to hold bilateral meetings with Managing Director AFD and will meet the Management of Renault besides interacting with French and Paris Based Pakistani Media.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
