Islamabad(INP) : Capital Development Authority (CDA) cognizant of rising housing needs in Islamabad is taking steps to meet the housing deficit. CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) formations are jointly operating for the purpose.
\nThe Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views during the visit to Sector C-14, C-15 and C-16 on Sunday. The Mayor was accompanied by Member Engineering, CDA Shahid Sohail, Member Planning & Design, CDA Asad Mehboob Kiani, Deputy Mayor, MCI, Syed Zeshan Ali Naqvi and other relevant officers.
\nTaking notice of encroachments in Sector C-14, C-15 and C-16 the Mayor directed the concerned formations of CDA including Enforcement Directorate to ensure end to encroachments. The Mayor directed Enforcement Directorate to make daily visits of the area to curb the encroachments. Check posts should be established for this purpose and operations should be carried out regularly in collaboration with area police to retrieve the encroached land. The acquired land should be fenced and a separate force should be raised in cooperation with Land and Rehabilitation Directorate, CDA, the Mayor further directed. Land and Rehabilitation Directorate should establish its camp office in the area. The staff of Camp Office should have relevant record with them.
\nThe issues of the affectees should be amicably resolved. The committee constituted under Deputy Mayor, Azam Khan should be activated for the purpose, the Mayor further directed.
\nThe Mayor was briefed on the occasion that contract works Rs.383 million has been awarded for construction of roads. The Mayor during the visit interacted with the affectees and ensured them of resolution their issues. The Mayor requested the local people to play their role for Islamabad\u2019s development in collaboration with elected representatives.
\nThe Mayor visits to the C-14, C-15 and C-16 was followed by his visit to Sector D-12. The Mayor inspected the ongoing development work in Sector D-12 and directed its completion at the earliest. The Mayor particularly directed to speedily conclude the construction work Sector D-12, E-11 link road as per parameters set by relevant departments of CDA.
