PESHAWAR(PR):The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) held its meeting under the Chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan, the Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 23rd December, 2016. The meeting was attended by Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary P&D Department, its members and respective administrative Secretaries. The forum considered 70 projects pertaining to different sectors including Elementary & Secondary, Higher Education, Sports & Tourism, Relief & Rehabilitation Department, Local Development, Special Development Unit, Local Development, Roads, DWSS, Water, Home, Law & Justice, Industries, ST&IT, Transport and Health sectors for the uplift of the province. The forum approved 63 Projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 27262.803 millions. 7 projects were deferred due to inadequate designs which were returned to the respective departments for rectification and improvements.
\nIn the Elementary & Secondary Education sector approved projects were “GGHSS at Sardi-Khel PK-72 Bannu, GGHSS at Jani Khel PK-72 Bannu, GGHSS Husai Rustam Road PK-30 Mardan, Establishment of Cadet College Swat (Phase-III), Establishment of one Cadet College in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Establishment of Model School Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Girls Community Schools project (Phase-I)”.
\nIn the Higher Education Sector approved projects were “Strengthening of Govt. Postgraduate Jehanzeb College Swat, Reconstruction of Earthquake affected Colleges, Establishment of GCMS Women Sawbi, Establishment of Government Degree College in PK-21”.
\nIn the Sports & Tourism sector approved projects were “Establishment of Sports Complex at Kohat, Completion of incomplete projects executed by the Engineering Wing, Up-gradation of Archaeological Complex Gor Guthtree, Artisan Village and Conservation of Peshawar Walled City”.
\nApproved projects of Relief & Rehabilitation sector were “Establishment of Emergency Rescue Services (Rescue 1122) in District Charsadda, Establishment of Emergency Rescue Services (Rescue 1122) in District Dir Upper, Establishment of Emergency Rescue Services (Rescue 1122) in District Haripur”.
\nIn the Local Development sector approved projects were “improvement of services\/civic amenities in the tourist area of Kaghan valley tehsil Balakot, Solarization of Tube Wells at Kalabat Township Haripur, Special Initiative Programm for District Charsada”.
\nIn the Multi Sectoral Development approved projects were “- Special Initiative Program for District Nowshera, Re-organization of Special Development Unit, P&D Department renamed as Sustainable Development Unit”. In the Urban Development sector only approved projects was “Peshawar Uplift Programme”.
\nIn the Building sector approved projects were “Construction of Deputy Commissioner Office cum Residence Battagram, Strengthening and Capacity Building of Material Testing Labs for C&W Department, Peshawar”.

\nApproved projects of DWSS sector were “Construction of Gravity Based Water Supply Schemes in KPK, Restoration of Non Functional Damaged Water Supply Schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Provision of Funds for Maintenance & Repair of Water Supply Schemes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Construction of Water Supply & Drainage System in UCs Jalozai and Spin Khak under (IDPs\/Refugees affected area) District Nowshera”.
\nIn the Water sector approved projects were “Normal Emergent Flood Program, Construction of Flood Structures on left bank of Kabul River near Pir Sabaq village, District Nowshera, Impvt. & const. of irrigation facilities including FPW, tube wells and roads on canals and drains in Bala Garhi, Babini, Rashaka Hujra, Dubai Adda, Qazi Abad, Gadhar, Baba Kalay, Fatima Nehar and other\/adjoining areas in District Mardan, Impvt. & const. of irrigation facilities i\/c FPWs, tubewells & roads on canals & drains in UCs Dagi, Tarakai, Torlandai, Asota, Sheikh Jana, Karnal Sher Kalay, Shewa, Parmmoli, Narangi, Yar Hussain, Kalu Khan, Adina & other adj. areas Distt Swabi, Restoration \/ Re-construction of damaged flood structures\/channels in district Swat, Shangla and Bunir, Const:\/Rehabilitation of Irrigation channel in Usherai Darra, District Dir (Upper), Construction of Ganoorai Irrigation Channel, District Dir Upper, Improvement & Widening of Road along Pehur Main Canal & its sub System, Partugai Drainage System & other small tributaries District Swabi, Improvement & construction of road, bridges and causeways along PMC system and Partugai Drainage system, Bamkhel Drainage system, Kundal Drainage system and Badri Nullah including its tributaries in District Swabi, Construction of Tube Wells on Solar System based, including conversion of existing irrigation tube-wells into Solar System, District Swabi”.
\nIn the Home sector approved projects “Construction of Central Police Office in Peshawar, Improvement of Existing Jails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
\nIn the Law & Justice only approved project was “Directorate of Human Rights and its District based Resource Centres with Integrated Facilities for Public Prosecutors, Government Pleaders and Probation Officers, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
\nIn industries sector only approved project was “Construction of Student’s Hostel facility at Government Technical and Vocational Center, (GTVC) Gulbahar, Peshawar”.
\nIn ST&IT sector only approved project was “Promoting Enterprises of Reverse Engineering”.
\nOnly approved project in the Transport sector was “Construction of Peshawar Mass Transit System (Bus Rapid Tranist) (ADB Assisted).
