Conceded to extension of service of Lt. Gen. (R) M. Hamed as Chairman of the KP Red Crescent Society<\/p>\n
PESHAWAR:\u00a0The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that ensuring proper nourishment, care, education and training of special children is the collective responsibility of the society and we need to be more responsive as a nation in this respect.
\nHe has stated this while addressing as the chief guest at a ceremony held as part of the International Day of Physically handicapped persons at \u201cUmeed Special Education School\u201d; an institution working under the aegis of Pak Army in Peshawar on Friday. Brig. Muhammad Ali, Lt. Col. Bilal, Principal and teachers of the institution and parents of the students were also present on this occasion.
\nThe Governor, while appreciating the quality of the teaching, training and caring facilities at the school also paid tributes to the role which the Pak Army has been contributing in this respect. Indeed, he said, we can make the special children productive citizens of the state by providing them proper educational and training facilities.
\nMeanwhile the Governor went round various sections of the school and also witnessed tabloes presented by the students. He also announced a grant of Rs. One million for the school and Rs.5000 for each teacher of the institution.
\nEarlier Lt. Col. Bilal briefed the Governor in detail about working of the school as well as salient features of an under construction block at the school.
\nMean while The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has conceded to the extension of services of Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Hamed Khan as Chairman of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch of Pakistan Red Crescent Society for next three years.
\nWhile presiding over the annual general body meeting of the society at Governor\u2019s House here on Friday, the Governor also appreciated its functioning and said that the PRCS was proving an efficient platform to helping the ailing humanity.
\nWith thre years extension in the services of the Lt. Gen.(R) Muhammad Hamed Khan, the Governor wished that the society will be in much better position to contribute its role as per its duties.
\nBesides the Chairman of the society, its Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Uzra Jamshed Karim and other members of the managing committee were also present on this occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
