PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Tuesday said that his government would sign agreements with China in communication, infrastructure and energy sectors.
\nSpeaking at a public meeting here, he said that provincial government would sign agreements for three new projects to develop the backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
\n\u201cThe agreements included 1200 megawatts hydel power generation project and \u2018Peshawar valley fast track rail project\u2019 and Chakdarra-Chitral-Gilgit road project,\u201d he said.
\nHe added that the road project would be included later in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
\nHe added that a Chinese firm had prepared feasibility study of the fast track rail while the road project would provide access to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
\nPervez Khattak said the work on the western route of the CPEC had been launched, adding that his government had demanded three industrial parks. However, he admitted, that every province would get one industrial park.
\nThe chief minister said a firm message had been conveyed to the federal government to convene the meeting of the parliamentary leaders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on the CPEC issue.
\nHe said that prime minister had agreed to address the reservations of the religio-political leaders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
