For the first time in the judicial history of Pakistan the Ombudsman Secretariat has started hearing of complaints through Skype\/IMO.  Ms. Raana Seerat, Investigation Officer heard five cases through Skype and the complainants from Multan, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Mianwali were included in the hearing process by taking their statements through their mobile phones via video conferencing.<br \/>\nThe representatives of the concerned agencies appeared in person at the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat Islamabad and the question-answer session was conducted through video conference.<br \/>\nThe hearing proceedings of five cases were conducted successfully and the complainants appreciated the efforts of Ombudsman Secretariat for providing this facility of hearing the complaints right from their homes.<br \/>\nThis pilot project would run for two months and the proper launching of Skype hearing would take place in the First of week of December.<br \/>\nIt is worth mentioning that the Ombudsman Secretariat had already provided hearing opportunity to Overseas Pakistanis from abroad, through Skype, two years back. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>our correspondent islamabad Federal Ombudsman Syed Tahir, Shahbaz has said that the first and foremost priority of Ombudsman Secretariat is to provide speedy and cost free justice to the people at their doorstep.
