\nPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said the day is not far when Pakistan will be recognised as a \u201cminorities-friendly country\u201d due to steps being taken to improve the lives of minority groups.
\n\u201cWe have promoted the vision with our actions that \u2018to each his own faith, as humanity is our common asset\u2019,\u201d the premier said while speaking at the Katas Raj Temples Complex in Chakwal.
\nHe said followers of all religions have equal rights in Pakistan and they are working hand in hand to defend the country and contribute to its peace and prosperity.
\nThe PM said he has advised government officials to spare no efforts in hosting pilgrims and in ensuring the protection and expansion of minorities\u2019 places of worship.
\nHe said according to the Holy Quran, God is the God of everyone and \u201cnot just Muslims\u201d, adding that there should be no distinction on the basis of caste, colour or creed because \u201cwe are all one as human beings\u201d.
\nTerrorism in the country has been controlled and an economic revival has been taking place, the premier said.
\nHe said road networks across the country are being expanded and motorways are being constructed.
\nHe said the six-lane Karachi-Hyderabad motorway will be completed within a few months while the Karachi-Lahore motorway is also being constructed.
\nA six-lane motorway from Hassanabdal to Havelian is being built, the prime minister said, adding that \u201cthe makers of \u2018Naya Pakistan\u2019 are not building anything… we are\u201d.
\nThe premier earlier inaugurated a water filtration plant at the Katas Raj temple.
\nThe filtration plant set up at the temple\u2019s holy Amrat Jal pond will provide clean drinking water to visiting Hindu pilgrims. Sharif also planted a sapling on the temple\u2019s premises.
\nPrime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday attended a ceremony in Islamabad to hand over 200 buses to the educational institutions.
\nHe was accompanied by Maryam Nawaz and state minster for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
\nhe students gave a warm welcome to the guests and expressed gratitude over the provision of buses.
\nAlong with the children, the premier cut a special cake designed like the bus.
\nWhile addressing the ceremony, PM Nawaz said that the government is determined to raise the standard of education.
\nPM Nawaz asserted that at least 70 buses have been obtained by the government whereas directives have been issued to purchase the remaining 130 on priority bases.
\nMeanwhile He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of water filtration plant of Amrat Jal at Katas Raj, a sacred place for Hindus in district Chakwal.
