ISLAMABAD (PR): The Islamia University of Bahawalpur in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission organized International Conference on Pharmacy Practice (ICPP-2017) at Abbasia Campus.
\nThis three day event on the theme of \u201cemerging role of pharmacists in patient centered care\u201d was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Qaiser Mushtaq, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Ghazi University Dera Ghazi Khan. As many as 122 delegates including 22 speakers and 6 keynote speakers from Malaysia, Qatar and various Pakistani Universities are participating in the event.
\nThe Vice Chancellor termed the conference a splendid opportunity to educationists, researchers and graduates of pharmacy to share their knowledge and views with national and international experts.
\nHe said the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, as an educational hub, is playing a distinguishing role in furthering the nation\u2019s social and economic development through research and development and providing skilled man-power. Pharmacy plays a vital role in medical science and pharmacists has a major role to play in patient care and in the coming decades pharmacists are expected to become more integral with-in the health care system.
\nThe Islamia University of Bahawalpur established department of Pharmacy in 1991. The faculty is one of pioneer institution to start higher degree programmes in pharmacy practice with foreign qualified faculty with the aim to train students in social, behavioural, and economic aspects of pharmacy practice.
\nThese programmes aim to train graduates with concept of professionalism, health care system, and pharmacy practice in institution and community settings, pharmaceutical care, and professional ethics.
\nHe welcomed the national and International delegates and appreciated the efforts of conference organizers. Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Chairman Department of Pharmacy and foreign delegates also spoke on this occasion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
