Young poets’ books prefacing ceremony held in Landikotal

Khyber Adabi Jirga organized books prefacing ceremony at Government post graduate college in Landikotal on Sunday.
A large number of poets,intelictuals,writers and poetry lovers from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended the ceremony.
Renowned Pashtu poets professor Aslam Taseer, Prof,doctor Tawab Shah Masroor and others delivered their speeches and praised the poetry books “Hasoon”(Motivation)wrote by young poet Yusuf Baheer Shinwari and “Halzoon”(struggle) by Kabir Khan Kabir Shinwari.
Khyber Pakhtu Adabi Jirga president Prof,Dr Tawab Masroor said district Khyber is rich soil produced renowned poets who are famouse across the globe.
Dr Kalim Shinwari talked about the books and said that young writers and poets did a good job in which they talked about petriotism,Pashtun’ life and their meseries.
He said the books also talked about love and affection which attract readers.
He said Khyber Adabi Jirga formed by late Hamza Baba in 1930.
Naseem Afridi,a young poet,said like other walks of life militancy suffered Khyber poets economically and mentally. He added that due to many reasons including poverty a number of poetry books of well known poets in Khyber districts could not be published.
He said Hamza Baba gave a new trend to Ghazal followed by his predeceesers.
Engineer Shehzad Gul said British rulers used tactics to keep Pashtuns in dark and deprivation and imposed English as government language. He said Pashtuns should be given Pashtu as native language. He said schooling must be in Pashtu.
Prof, Dr Asalm Taseer praised the efforts by the poets who delivered their services for humanity in their poetries. He paid tribute to Baba-e-Ghazal Ameer Hamza Khan Shinwari who had planted nursery of poets and produced.
Child poet Awais Qarni, Prof Zulfiqar Zulfi and Maulana Shoaib Junaidi also spoke on the occasion.
