ISLAMABAD, April 08 (Online): Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani while challenging Islamabad High Court (IHC) one member bench decision in chairman senate election case has filed intra court appeal in IHC.
He has taken the plea in intra court appeal that the decision of rejection of 7 votes by Presiding Officer (PO) be set aside. 7 votes were declared rejected on wrong basis. The court should set aside the decision of one member bench because this decision runs contrary to the laws. Vote of no confidence is not solution to the wrong decision of presiding officer. Bringing the vote of no trust means accepting Sadiq Sanjrani as chairman first. Article 69 does not apply to chairman senate election. Article 69 only protects the proceedings of the house. The house proceedings relates to legislation. The process of chairman senate election is not proceedings of the house. President has appointed presiding officer for the election of chairman Senate. Presiding officer is member of GDA and is ally of the government. Presiding officer attitude with our representative was arrogant.
One member bench of high court had rejected Yousuf Raza Gillani petition.
