0.4m saplings to be planted in across the district, says Deputy Commissioner

Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza on Thursday while planting a sampling on the International Forest Day here in Attock has said that people should play their active role to make tree plantation drive a successful event in order to maintain natural environment for their next generation.
He was expressing these views while addressing various events on the occasion of the International Forest Day. On this occasion he was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Waqas Aslam Marth, Assistant Commissioner Humira Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Ashfaq Bashir Batha, CEO Education Sajida Mukhtar, Principal Government Graduate College Javed Siddiqui, Deputy Director Colleges Arshad Khan, Admin Officer Sardar Zaheer Ahmad Khan, Population Officer Zafar Iqbal Rahmani, Shehzad Niaz Deputy Director Public Relations at Directorate General of Public Relationsand Other officers were also present.
As per reported by our district representative faisal munir that The Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza was also shared the updates that 04 lacs and 01 thousand plants of different categories would be planted during the ongoing spring season in across the district. In which 50 thousands trees will be planted in government forests, 11 thousands in other government institutions, 01 lac and 90 thousands in defense departments and 1 Lac 50 thousands in private institutions.
Mr.Atif Raza informed that more than 0.4m saplings would be planted across the district, among them 50,000 in government forests, during the current spring plantation drive. He added that 102,000 trees would be planted in tehsil Attock, 82,000 in tehsil Fatehjang, 42,000 in Pindi gheb, 10,000 in tehsil Jand, and 165,000 saplings would be planted in tehsil Hassanabdal. Under the campaign, saplings were being planted on the land of several government departments, including the Defence Department, and on private lands in the region he added.
On the occasion of the International Forest Day, special events were organized at Government Pilot Secondary School, Government Graduate College, Government Degree College for Women, District Council Stadium, Attock and Ghazi Bharutha canal in which people from different walks of life participated.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people of the district to actively and effectively participate in the plantation drive. He said that All government, semi-government and private institutions will play their full role in this campaign. Deputy Commissioner directed the forest department to also ensure the secureness of these sampling after completion of the tree plantation move.
