0.9m tourists visited KP’s scenic destinations during Eid

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s scenic destinations experienced a remarkable influx of tourists during the Eidul Adha holidays, with over 932,000 visitors recorded across the province between June 7 and 9, 2025.
The Swat Valley stood out as the most popular destination, attracting a total of 288,424 domestic tourists and 63 foreign visitors. Notable tourist hotspots such as Madyan, Bahrain, and surrounding areas were bustling with activity, reaffirming Swat’s status as a premier attraction for local holiday makers.
According statistics released by the provincial government Galiayt received 177,000 visitors, Naran-Kaghan 168,000 visitors ,Malam Jabba 160,000 visitors and Upper Dir received 85,000 visitors.
Tourist data was compiled through collaboration among police, Levies checkpoints, Tourism Police, Assistant Commissioners, and relevant development authorities.
In line with directives from Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur and Advisor for Tourism Zahid Chanzeb, robust arrangements were put in place to ensure a smooth and safe experience for travelers. Visitors praised the efforts made for security, parking, medical aid, and guidance. The Tourism Police, particularly its young personnel, were commended for their professionalism, while the Department of Tourism’s 24/7 helpline (1422) remained actively responsive throughout the holiday period.
Tourist turnout in newly merged districts such as Khyber and Bajaur also saw a notable rise, indicating growing interest in emerging travel destinations.
Advisor Zahid Chanzeb expressed pride in the public’s confidence in the province’s tourism infrastructure. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into a safe, modern, and world-class tourist destination, with the KP Culture and Tourism Authority playing a leading role in planning and operations.
