The 12th Passing out Parade of the Motorway Police Training College was held with grandeur, attended by Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, as the chief guest.
The ceremony was also attended by IG Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Choudhary, Additional IG Said Akhtar Bharwana, and Commandant Asim Gulzar. A total of 401 officers passed out, including 67 female officers.
The Federal Minister inspected the parade and saluted the well-disciplined contingents. Awards were also distributed among motorway policing officers for outstanding performance. Speaking at the occasion, Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that ensuring the safety of highways is the primary responsibility of the Motorway Police.
Rescue 1122 centers and air ambulance services are being established on motorways, while digitalization of toll plazas has resulted in 90% of vehicles using M-Tag.
He further stated that the Islamabad, Murree, and Karachi-Liyari Expressways have been completed, while work continues on Karachi-Hyderabad, Quetta-Chaman, and other motorways.
The Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway will soon be completed and connected to Karachi Port, with the project expected to finish within two years. The Lahore-Sialkot motorway will be connected via Kharian to Islamabad, reducing travel distance by approximately 100 kilometers.
For the promotion of tourism, the Mansehra-Kaghan-Naran motorway will be linked to Babusar Top. Additionally, the Baba Guru Nanak Expressway will begin construction soon, providing special travel facilities for Sikh pilgrims. IG Motorway Police Sultan Ahmed Choudhary noted that despite limited resources, the Motorway Police have delivered excellent performance. Commandant Asim Gulzar highlighted that the Training College focuses on professional training alongside personality development of officers.
Junior Patrol Officer Nida Rukh Fatima received the All-Round First Award, Amarah Akbar received the Best in Academics Award, and Zain Ijaz received the Best in Parade and Best in Driving Awards. The ceremony was also attended by the Federal Secretary Communications, Chairman NHA, and other senior officials.
