PESHAWAR
The 13th World Karate Tournament will be held in Tokyo, Japan in October this year and a trial to select Pakistan team will be held on June 4 at Pakistan Headquarter in Lahore. This was stated by International Coach from Pakistan Sahibzada Al-Hadi on Saturday. He said the Pakistani team would leave on October 11 to participate in these competitions. He said the Cup in Tokyo Japan would be held under the aegis of WKO Japan and Pakistan Full Body Contact Karate Team would take part wherein teams from 103 countries of the world have been confirmed their participation including Pakistan.
He said in order to select the team, trials are being conducted in the Pakistan Headquarters Lahore in which the best players from all four provinces and Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Bulistan will participate. Shibzada Al-Hadi said that the best players from all regions of Pakistan are being given an opportunity in the trials so that Pakistani players can perform better in world-level competitions.
He said Farhad Shinwari along with him will be part of the selection committee from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa nominated by Pakistan Full Body Contact Karate Federation and hopefully a strong Pakistan team would be part of the Tokyo Cup.
