Police on Sunday arrested 15 prime suspects of Khanewal mob lynching incident that claimed a person’s life, it emerged.
According to Punjab police spokesperson, police arrested 15 suspects after identifying them through videos. Those who were nabbed included: Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Riaz, Saqlain, Muhammad Shan, Asif, Nadeem, Qaisar Nazeer, Abdul Ghani, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Amir, Aijaz, Mehboob ur Rehman, Muhammad Bilal and Ali Sher.
The spokesperson further said that the accused could be seen hitting the victim Aslam with bricks and sticks. He said that 85 people have been arrested so far.
A middle-aged man was stoned to death by a mob in Jungle Dera village of Khanewal district’s Mian Channu on Saturday.
The victim reportedly claimed innocence but the villagers first tied him up to a tree and then hit him with bricks until he died.
