SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi has said that over 1500 police officers and officials will perform duty on Christmas in the provincial capital.
He said that a special security plan has been devised in Peshawar on the occasion of Christmas.
“Under the special security plan, more than 1500 policemen and officers will perform security duties,” CCPO added.
Kashif Aftab Abbasi maintained that expert shooters will be posted on all important buildings in the vicinity of all churches located in Peshawar, adding that adequate security measurements have been ensured for the day at the main gate and the inner parts as well.
According to the plan, Bomb Disposal Unit (DBU) and sniffer dog teams have also been deployed around all the churches along with special blockades.
In order to make the security effective on the occasion of Christmas festival, city patrolling, ladies police and Ababil squad have also been assigned special responsibilities.
Moreover, ATS team, RRF unit, BDU teams will be deputed to keep the security on the occasion full-proof.
SSP Operations Kashif Aftab Abbasi has said that protection of all minority communities, including the Christian community, was a top priority of the police.
He said that all available resources are being utilized to protect the minority community. “All Christian places of worship are also being monitored through CCTV cameras,” Kashif Aftab Abbasi
