Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 18 outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered gambling tools, liquor, drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital Police have intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following these directives, the Secretariat police team arrested an accused namely Nabeel and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession. The Margalla police team arrested an accused namely Babar involved in drug peddling and recovered 1820 gram heroin from his possession.
Likewise, the Tarnol police team arrested three accused namely Jansher, Saleem and Marjan Khan and recovered 1420 gram hashish, 360 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from their possession, while police team also arrested two accused namely Idress and Noor Razaq involved in illegally selling petrol and diesel.
Similarly, the Sangjani police team arrested three accused namely Ahmed Bilal, Fazal and Abdul Rehman involved in illegally refilling gas cylinders. The Humak police team arrested 03 accused namely Mansoor Ul Haq, Danish Yaqoob and Rafique and recovered one 30 bore pistol, liquor and 1765 gram heroin from their possession.
Moreover, the Sabzi Mandi police team arrested two accused namely Zeeshan and Akhtar Gul and recovered 1060 gram hashish from their possession. The Shamas Colony police team arrested an accused namely Aliyan Ali and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.
Furthermore, the Phulgran police team arrested an accused namely Zubair Khan involved in illegally selling petrol. The Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Shah Zaib and recovered 535 gram hashish from their possession.
Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is under way.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. He further said that the safety of the lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and the performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis.
