Federal Minister for States, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs Engr Amir Muqam has said that 2025 was proved to be a year of great success in all sectors of life for Pakistan.
He was addressing a prestigious ceremony organized by the Pakistan–South Africa Association at Pretoria in South Africa, as the chief guest, says an official statement.
In his key note address, Engr Amir Muqam said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan achieved remarkable successes in defense, economy, diplomacy, sports, and other sectors.
Due to the tireless efforts and timely decisions of the current government, he said that Pakistan is rapidly moving on the path of development.
Under the leadership of CDF and COAS Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Armed Forces achieved historic victories in the Battle of Truth and frustrated nefarious designs of the enemy.
In the Battle of Truth, he said that Pakistan Armed Forces inflicted a humiliating defeat on an enemy arrogant in its weaponry and raised the pride of the entire nation.
“After Indian aggression, overseas Pakistanis stood firm in defending Pakistan’s interests abroad,” he said.
Engr Amir Muqam said this war was fought by the entire Pakistani nation with unity, sending a clear message to the world that we are all one for Pakistan. “If Pakistan is attacked in any form, every patriotic Pakistani will respond decisively, as in the Battle of Truth,” said Amir Muqam.
He said record remittances sent by overseas Pakistanis are practical proof of their love for and trust in Pakistan, adding that remittances amounting to USD 3.59 billion in December provided strong support to the national economy. He said overseas Pakistanis are in fact Pakistan’s true ambassadors, who have established their place in host countries through hard work, sacrifice, and determination.
Engr Amir Muqam said a conducive environment for investment has been provided in Pakistan, adding through the SIFC, a one-window facility for investment has been established so that overseas Pakistanis can invest with confidence.
Granting the Kashmiri people the right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions is inevitable, said Amir Muqam and added that lasting peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Kashmir issue strictly in line with UN resolutions. Pakistan’s High Commissioner Malik Muhammad Farooq, Central President of the Pakistan–South Africa Association Mian Naseer Ahmed, renowned journalist Yousuf Abramjee, and local councillor Naeem Patel also addressed the ceremony.
Deputy High Commissioner Hassan Rabbani, Press Attaché Saad Nawaz, President of the International Association of Pakistani Journalists Shahid Chauhan, Dr. Shabbir Hussain, and a large number of men and women from various walks of life attended the event. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Grand Mufti of Africa, Mufti Muhammad Akbar Hazravi, offered a special prayer for Pakistan’s stability, development, and prosperity.
