345 healthcare facilities sealed across KP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission in the last three months inspected more than 2227 healthcare establishments and sealed 345 of them for different violations.
According to the report, the facilities were sealed due to different malpractices like keeping expired and illegal medicines, lack of proper waste management system, absence of qualified staff, lack of proper waste management system and not getting registered with authority concerned in the province.
The operations were conducted across the province.
The authority maintained that there are 12712 registered healthcare facilities in KP.
“Licensing of health centers was started for the first time in the province while temporary licenses were issued to 10 hospitals and 15 clinical laboratories,” the report added.
An online complaint management system was created so that people across the province can register any type of complaint sitting at home. In the same month, 394 complaints were resolved.
KP Health Care Commission has ordered various trainings to improve the quality of hospitals in the province.
Under which various staff of about 15 hospitals were trained on quality health principles.
The report added that KP Health Care Commission has launched Geo-mapping in collaboration with the World Bank and 84 staff members of 32 different hospitals were trained on minimum standards to provide the best treatment and medical facilities to the public.
