3610 AAC holders, 62 PoR families reside in Landi Kotal

3610 Afghan Citizen Card (AAC) holders and sixty two families carrying Proof of Registration (PoR) are residing in various localities of tehsil Landi Kotal, however 95 families inhibited in Landi Kotal illegally have been sent back to their home country, Afghanistan in first phase of Afghan refugee repatriation in 2024, administrative officials said.
They said that 3610 ACC holders comprising approximately 1600 children and 1000 women and 1010 men are presently living in Khuga Khel, Shiekhmal Khel, Ash Khel, Mukhtar Khel etc., villages of Landi Kotal.
In addition 62 families carrying PoR are also residing in various areas of the tehsil, they added.
Meanwhile as per the local police information almost 1400 Afghan nationals are engaged in different trades and dealings in Landi Kotal Bazaar.
The official said that roundabout 900 Afghanis are doing their businesses in shops while the rest of them are earning their three times meals by selling daily usages commodities in handcarts, labore,daily wagers etc.
It is to be stated here that Landi Kotal Bazaar contain 3000 shops, deal in innumerable big and small trades.
On the other hand repatriation of the Afghan citizens via Torkham border is in progress and last day 1062 illegal, ACC and PoR holders returned backl to their home country, Afghanistan.
