380 held in drive against encroachment in Peshawar

Peshawar city traffic police arrested 380 people and imposed fines on them during the last one week while conducting operations against encroachment mafia.
Following the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Dr Zahidullah, City Traffic Police Peshawar officials voluntarily informed the encroachment mafia from all over the city about the damage of encroachment, however, the encroachment mafia did not complice.
During a crackdown, City Traffic Police Peshawar officials conducted operations at Bacha Khan Chowk, Hayatabad, Khushal Bazar and Namak Mandi Road and arrested 380 people and imposed fines on them.
Similarly. 900 motorcycles were locked in the terminal for parking motorcycles in no parking zones in Khushal Bazar and Namak Mandi in front of Bloor Plaza in Cantt sector. Dr Zahidullah has said that City Traffic Police Peshawar first issues notices to the trespassing mafia by fulfilling the legal requirements, and after that conducts an operation to arrest the persons guilty of encroachment while taking possession of the goods and moving them to the terminal.
He said that encroachment mafia should not cross their limits while taking special care of the beauty of the city and avoid creating any kind of problems for the citizens.
CTO Peshawar furthered that due to encroachment the beauty of the city is affected which is not acceptable in any case.
He stated that strict legal action will be taken against those guilty of encroachment and there will be no leniency with anyone.
