Islamabad, July 16, 2026: The 3rd Meeting of the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC) of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) was held at the Conference Hall of the Rector’s Secretariat under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad. The meeting was attended by the Registrar Dr. Fahim A. Qureshi, Campus Directors, Deans, Senior University Officials, student representatives, and officials of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC).
The meeting reviewed key quality assurance initiatives in line with the Higher Education Commission’s Pakistan Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (PSG-2023), including Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE), Institutional Performance Reports (Self-RIPE), revision of the University’s Quality Policy, strategic planning for international rankings, and other quality enhancement initiatives.
Addressing the participants, the Rector emphasized that quality assurance must translate into excellence in teaching and learning rather than remain a compliance exercise. Referring to the emerging demands of Industry 5.0, he stressed the need to move beyond conventional podium-based teaching and adopt learner-centred pedagogies that prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
The Rector also appreciated the inclusion of student representatives in the IQC, describing their participation as an important step towards strengthening stakeholder engagement and fostering a culture of continuous quality enhancement.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen institutional quality assurance further, promote academic excellence, and enhance COMSATS University’s national and international standing.
