The Saddar Division Police have arrested 26 suspects, 44 car-lifters, 152 robbery suspects and recovered millions of rupees cash and valuable from the gangs in the last one year.
SP Saddar Division Waqar Ahmed told reporters that operations against street crimes and during which 26 suspects involved in kidnappings have been arrested and six abductees have been rescued.
Similarly, 44 motor car lifters and snatchers including 152 accused involved in robbery were also arrested from whose possession cash amounting to Rs 80 lakh, 55 valuable mobile phones, 21 motorcycles and 10 valuable vehicles were also recovered.
In addition to crimes against property, the Police this year also took immediate action against the accused of murder and attempted murder, arresting 593 accused who were trying to flee to an unknown location after the incident.
A full-fledged campaign was launched against the notorious criminals hiding in unknown places during which 1255 dangerous notorious criminals were arrested, along with 37 criminals involved in police encounters along with other criminals busted.
During the operations the police recovered sophisticated automatic weapons from the possession of the arrested persons including 306 Kalashnikovs, 47 Kalashnikovs, 343 rifles, 351 short guns, 1145 pistols and more than 330,000 different bore cartridges have been recovered.
Similarly, crackdown on drug dealers has been carried out this year during which more than 3600 suspects involved in smuggling of ice, hashish and other drugs have been arrested.
Drug suppliers, including inter-provincial drug smugglers and dealers, seized hundreds of kilograms of ice, 147 kilograms of opium, 56 kilograms of heroin and 1329 kilograms of high quality hashish from the suspects involved in the crackdown. Bottled wine has also been recovered
Talking about the crackdown this year, SP President Waqar Ahmed clarified that the series of operations against anti-social elements would continue in the same manner.
At the same time, a special campaign is being launched to resolve the ongoing killings and other conflicts among the citizens so that the society can be made peaceful.
