7th annual research conference begins at RMC

PESHAWAR: The Student Research Society of Rehman Medical College (RMC) inaugurated its 7th Annual Research Conference, drawing a large number of students, faculty members, and health professionals. The conference focuses on the critical role of research in addressing both national and global health challenges. The chief guest, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Akbar, Dean of Hayatabad Medical Complex, commended the students’ efforts, emphasizing that “Research and innovation are the true guarantees of the future of medicine.” Dr. Irfan Afzal Mughal, Head of the Department of Medical Research, highlighted the need to foster curiosity for research among students, stressing that in today’s world, “medical research is no longer optional, but essential for growth and survival.” Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shafiq ur Rehman, CEO of Rehman Medical Institute, noted that impactful research often begins on a small scale but can influence global health and environmental outcomes. He added, “Positive change requires teamwork. Do not wait for the perfect time to begin research — the right time to start is now.” The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Mukhtiar Zaman, Principal of RMC, along with faculty members. The two-day conference will feature poster presentations, oral papers, keynote lectures, and interactive sessions, providing students with valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and contributing to the advancement of medical science.
