Narcotics Control force in a joint operation with Excise Department on Swat Expressway seized 83 heroin and ice-filled capsules and arrested an alleged international smuggler.
The arrested person has been identified as Kamran.
Officials claimed that the accused was trying to smuggle the drug filled capsules from Swat to Qatar through Islamabad Airport but busted by police.
The operation was conducted by Muhammad Riaz SHO Police Station Excise Mardan Region and Shahnawaz Khan Sub-Inspector along with other personnel.
Following the instructions of Adeel Shah, Secretary Excise and Zafarul Islam Khattak, Director General Excise, the Narcotics Controll teams have launched crackdowns across the province.
Officials have also claimed that an organized group behind the accused is working from Swat, Swabi, Mardan and Charsadda, a case has been registered in police station Excise Mardan region for further investigation and legal action, effective raids have been conducted against the other accused of the group.
Meanwhile, Secretary Excise has lauded the officials for foiling drug smuggling bid on Swat praised the recent successful action of the concerned staff and announced cash reward and certificates.
