Heavy rains and flash flood have claimed more 9 lives in KP while 7 people have been injured and damage to 103 homes has been caused.
As per PDM report incidents have taken place in Abbottabad, Swat, Bunir, Khyber, Chitral lower and other districts in continued rains from July 29. As many as 9 people including 4 children, 3 women and 2 men have been killed during the flash floods. 7 people are reported to have been injured too in different incidents.
103 houses have been damaged and among them 39 have been completely destroyed. PDMA, RESCUE and respective institutions teams are conducting search and rescue operation and survey of affected areas to assess the damages.
Steps are being taken to reopen the roads which were closed due to flash flood in Lower Chitral. PDMA, RESCUE-11, district administration and the respective institutions are in contact with each other and are continuing relief activities.
