Climate change minster senator Sherry Rehman, in message on ocean international day said 96.5% of our total water is from oceans.
We are one of the lucky nations having border with ocean. 50 to 75% oxygen of our earth is produced by oceans, she said, “Our climate, weather and rains also depend on oceans.”
“In response we are making these oceans, a pile of plastic and garbage,” she continues, now incomprehensible amount of Garbage and Plastic is in oceans.”
She said according to studies 51 trillion pieces are available only in seas.
Rise in pollution and Garbage in oceans in worrying, sherry said, which is not dangerous only for sea lives but also for other livings.
She said we can protect natural system by protecting beaches and people should keep beaches clean like their homes.
