Dancing players turns KP U21 Games opening ceremony at Abbottabad memorable

Abbottabad Tehsil took berth into the final of the Tug of War and Kabaddi along with Tehsil Havalain when they recorded victories against Tehsil Lora and Tehsil Lohr on the opening day of the KP U21 Inter-Tehsil Games, which got under way here at Olympian Lala Fazal Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
DC Abbottabad Muhammad Moghis Sana Ullah was the chief guest on this occasion who formally inaugurated the colourful ceremony with thundering applauses from all the participating players who turned the whole complexion into a melodious one when started dancing on the tone of local drums (dolls) surna (pipe).
AC Abbottabad Dr. Mujtaba Irfan, Bushra Masroor, DYO Abbottabad, District Abbottabad Chairman Zakat Tariq Mehmood, RSO Syed Saqlain Shah, DSO Waseem Afzal, players and large number of spectators were also present and witnessed the colourful opening ceremony.
A total of 352 players – 85 players from Tehsil including Lora, Lohr Tanawal, Havalian and Abbottabad are taking part in six different Games including Kabaddi, Tug of War, Badminton, Volleyball, Athletic, Football.
Speaking on the occasion, DC, Abbottabad, Muhammad Moghis Sana Ullah said, “I am very happy to come to this event because I have a great attachment to the sports and we have the efforts and hope that the player of Hazara would win this time again by giving good performances.
He said the enthusiasm of the players is appreciable. He also advised the players to actively participate in the Games and win back name and fame for their respective Tehsil and District. He also lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Sports KP for involving such a record number of players in healthy activities.
It is a good opportunities for the players to convey a message of goodwill to their respective family members, relatives and friends, DC Abbottabad Muhammad Moghis Sana Ullah added.
Earlier, the ceremony was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by hafiz Shehzad, followed by National Anthem. Senior Artist and flute master Ustad Zakir presented two national song on flute which mesmerized the players, officials and jam-packed spectators fence with their thundering applauses.
The contingents of all the four participating Tehsil presented a smart March Past, followed by Tug of War and Kabaddi events in which Tehsil Havanlian and Abbottabad recorded victories against Lora and Lohra Tanawal first in the Tug of War and than in the Kabaddi. Both Havilian and Abbottabad took berth into the finals.
The semi-finals of tug of war provided great thrill for the sitting spectators as first Havalian upset Lohra Tanawal by 2-1 and then host Abbottabad beat Lora by 2-0. In the Kabaddi event Havalina beat Lora by 44-34 in the Kabaddi and then Abbottabad faced tough resistance against Lohra Tanawal in the 45-43 battle.
After the victories in the Tug of War and Kabaddi the players of Abbottabad and Havalian joined the group of local folk dancing team and turned the atmosphere more melodious.
