District police arrested as many as 137 proclaimed offenders and seized huge quantity of weapons and drugs from their possession during the last month, a police official said. Talking to the media district police officer (DPO) Mardan, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed said on Thursday that the police conducted various operations last month in different parts of the district and arrested 137 proclaimed offenders which were wanted to police in heinous nature of crimes.
The DPO added that police also seized 23 Kalashnikov rifles, 04 Kalakov rifles, 37 Rifles, 60 guns, 203 Pistols, 9,041 cartridges of different bore. DPO further said that police also recovered 177.7 kg of hashish, 251 bottles of liquor, 1459 grams of heroin and 24 gram of ice.
Traffic police have registered 23,020 challans and imposed Rs 89, 63950 fine on traffic law violators during the month of January”, he added. Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed added that the Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) in the district has successfully resolved 38 petty disputes during the last month.
The policy of award for best performers and punishment for bad performers will be strictly implemented with the aim so as to right track police force to discipline for making sure maximum protection and relief to public as well”, he added.
He also appealed the masses to cooperate police in controlling crime in the district. “Without the support of masses police cannot control crimes’, he added.
