PESHAWAR: PTI district general secretary Imdadullah Durrani and dozens of party workers on Friday announced the joining of the PML-N during a special ceremony here in Puran area.
Among them were Mr. Durrani, former district council member Javed Ali, former Martung tehsil president Sher Ali, Puran Aloch trade union president Mujahid Khan and others.PML-N central senior vice president and adviser to the prime minister Amir Muqam, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said the ruling PTI was fast losing popularity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the `positive policies` of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had prompted leaders and activists of various political parties, including PTI, to join the PML-N.
Mr. Muqam said the people including PTI workers were sick of PTI chief Imran Khan`s negative politics.`ThePTIhaslost popularity in KP.
The PML-N is regaining hold in the province and will sweep next elections,` he said.The PML-N leader said the Panama Leaks case was meant to defame the prime minister but such conspiracies won`t succeed asthe people had full confidence in Nawaz Sharif.He said the party welcomed newcomers and would offer complete support to them for serving the people.
Mr. Imdadullah later told reporters that the PTI had became a group of conspirators and vested interests and that it didn`t value hardworking and loyal activists.
He complained that the PTI preferred newcomers, including those involved in corruption, to old guards. `The PTI has been hijacked by a group of few,` he said.
Mr. Imdadullah said he and other newcomers would strive for the PML-N to ensureits victoryin the nextgeneral elections.
ROBBERS HELD: The Dandai Bisham police on Friday arrested three people wanted in a robbery case.
SHO Khursheed Khan told reporters that the arrest of Akhtar Hussain, Speen Khan and Hussan Nawab was made on a tip-of f.
He said the police also seized a pistol, 26 cartridges, cellphones and over Rs11,500 cash stolen from a shop in Shwar Maira area.
The SHO said the police had registered a case against the suspects and would produce them in a local court today (Friday).
