Bannu
A suicide bomber was killed and two police personnel sustained injuries after the suicide attacker rammed car laden with explosives into entrance gate of Mandan Police Station located in Bannu.
According to Deputy Police Officer (DPO) Bannu Fazal Hamid, the suspect came in a car full of explosives and crashed onto a main gate of Mandan Police Station. The suicide attacker was killed while two police personnel identified as Mudassar and Alam Dar were injured in attack.
The injured were rushed to District Headquarters hospital for medical treatment. According to DPO Bannu, The attacker was nearly 21 years old.
The sound of blast was heard in far areas of the city, while window of building and houses located near police station were also damaged as the blast’s intensity was massive. Around 220 KGs of explosives were used in blast.
The attackers had intended to target police station, however, the gate of police station was totally destroyed in the blast.
The security forces cordoned-off the whole area and started investigation. The search operation was underway, however, no arrest had been made till the filing of this report.
