42 terrorists killed in separate operations across country

After a spade of suicide attacks and attacks by the terrorists, the security agencies have stepped up operations against terrorists during which at least 42 terrorists were killed while two Rangers personnel sustained severe wounds in different raids across the country on Friday.
According to Rangers officials, militants attacked Rangers in Manghopir area, retaliating to which 5 terrorists were killed.
Following the attack, security officers launched a search operation during which terrorists again resorted to firing. Rangers officers struck back and killed five terrorists.
Separately, spokesman to Rangers revealed that another seven militants were killed in Kathore area on the Super Highway. The officers have stated that hand grenades and latest weapons were recovered from the possession of the suspects.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), as many as three terrorists were killed whereas two security officers got wounded in an encounter at Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Agency.
Troops “effectively responded” to the attack carried out by militants from the Afghan side of the border, the statement said.
The security forces also foiled a major terror bid and killed two terrorists in Kurram Agency on Friday. Political administration sources said that two terrorists were engaged in installing bomb by roadside in Shabak area of Kurram Agency.
The security forces getting the information rushed the scene and killed both terrorists. Bodies of the terrorists killed in the action were handed over to Levies forces.
At least six terrorists were killed in a clash between security forces and terrorists in the wee hours of Friday near Orakzai Agency.
According to sources, terrorists attempted to target two check posts of the security forces. In retaliatory fire against terrorists targeting the check posts, six terrorists were killed by the security forces, according to sources.
In Peshawar, security personnel stopped a car at check post near Regi area after which the militants opened firing. The officials of the security forces gave a befitting reply and killed three suspects while their accomplices managed to flee the scene.
At least four terrorists were killed in a clash between security forces and terrorists in the wee hours of Friday near Bannu Baka Khel.
According to sources, the operation was implemented after receiving a tip about the location of the secret refuge of terrorists. Four terrorists were killed during the operation and heavy ammunition was recovered, according to security sources.
Two terrorists were killed, weapons and explosives recovered during operation of security forces in Hangu on Friday. The security personnel conducted operation against the militants in Torawari area of Hangu district. The extremists taking shelter in the area offered stiff resistance and in retaliatory action of security forces two terrorists were killed.
In Balochistan, the Frontier Corps cordoned off a terrorist hideout at Darakhshan area at the Saryab Road in Quetta on Thursday night on intelligence upon which the terrorists opened fire at the law enforcement agencies.
The FC personnel retaliated as a result two terrorists were killed. Two FC officials were also wounded in the exchange of fire. Sources said that the killed terrorists belonged to a banned terrorist outfit.
In Sargodha, the police averted a terror bid and killed two terrorists besides recovering explosive material during operation here on Friday. The police taking notice of an intelligence tip-off regarding presence of suspicious people conducted operation near Mitha Masoom locality in Sargodha. The extremists present in the area opened indiscriminate fire at police and tried to flee from the scene. In retaliatory action of police both terrorists were killed and explosives material was recovered.
Police said that the terrorists were planning to target sensitive installations and public places but in time action foiled the terror bid preventing major causalities and property losses.
The anti-terror raids were launched after Thursday’s blast at crowded shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan Sharif that claimed lives of 76 people and left more than 250 injured.
The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group claimed the responsibility for the attack on their Aamaq news agency, saying a suicide bomber had targeted devotees at the shrine in Sindh.
Security sources said Pakistan seems to be experiencing a fresh resurgence in terror attacks as the militants who had fled to Afghanistan have apparently regrouped with the support of Indian RAW and Afghan intelligence agency.
