PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police has established a Data Analysis Section to monitor patrolling in the city and keep a check on the crime and other incidents. The police would get live footage of the events happening in the city at the Data Analysis Section set up by the force recently.
The section was established for FIRs, IVS, VVS, SOS, Geo-tagging, Hot Spot policing, public service task, DRC, City patrolling and Criminal record verification system. The Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Tahir Khan told the media the Data Analysis Section (DAS) was functioning well.
He said the cops would check vehicles at the checkpoints. Any suspected persons passing through the checkpoints would be nabbed through the system. The cops would also be able to locate the site of crime and accident through android mobile phone through Google map.
The Information-Technology system introduced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is making a difference and has improved the service delivery to a great extent.
He said the system included Hot Spots Policing (Geo-Tagging), Digitization of first information report, Tenant Information System (TIS), Surveillance of Accused / Convicts (CIA Picket), Police Assistance Lines (PAL), Dispute Resolution Councils (DRCs), Human Resource Management System (HRMS), Vehicle Verification System (VVS), Identity Verification System (IVS), Criminal Record Verification (CRV), SOS Alert Service, Traffic Update (PT to 8583) / Google, City Patrol Peshawar, Police Official Facebook Page, (fb.com/CapitalCityPolicePeshawar).
The official said a number of functions were being performed to ensure that reliable data is fed into the system in a timely manner and to analyze it for the planning purposes.
Monitoring is done. Correct and complete data is fed into the system on day-to-day basis and Crime Scene Photography/Geo-Tagging is carried out.
There is FIRs Data, Tenant Information System (TIS) and Process Monitoring
Public Service tasks are completed within the timeline.
Monitoring the progress of the field staff is done as per targets set in the use of different gadgets
To ensure that proper legal action has been initiated in case if unregistered / stolen vehicle is displayed by the VVS. The fake CNIC / person on watch list is identified by the IVS. The PO is identified by CRVS. To ensure that prompt action is taken in case of emergency, alert by the SOS Call Service is done.
Crime Trend Analysis is carried out. Identification of Crime Pattern / Clustering / hot spots is done accordingly.
Classification of the accused is done on the basis of age, area and modus operandi. Location of convicts released from jails is traced.
According to the data compiled by the Data Analysis Section of the KP Police, 623 murders were reported in 2013, 695 in 2014, 456 in 2015, 493 in 2016 and 57 so far in 2017.
Besides, 193 terrorist attacks were reported in 2013, 341 in 2014, 179 in 2015, 211 in 2016 and eight cases were so far reported in the current year. The number of cases against property remained 863 in 2013, 939 in 2014, 1082 in 2015 but it dropped to 786 in 2016 and 135 have been reported during the current year so far.
The dispute resolution councils of the Peshawar city and case circle has so far received 1704 cases, out of which 609 cases were resolved, 98 sent for legal action to police stations, 716 cases were filed while 281 are pending.
The police assistance lines has issued Police Character & Security Certificate to 722 people, while the number of theft and snatching remained 92, TIF reporting remained 1672, vehicle verification 25, lost items 5440, legal advice 7, documents attestation remained 2 while the total number of cases received remained 7960.

To check KP vehicles through registration number
(R.U6149.PWR), send SMS to (7005400), total SIMS 30 number of vehicles checked 86,550, 70 vehicle were found stolen and 86,480 cleared.
The CNIC details were displayed on Tablet Identity Verification System; 2017 were checked 59,385, suspects were found suspected 349 and fake ID cards were put at 17 while 59,036 were found clear.
Through the Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS) 2017, 219638 persons were checked, 73 found involved in criminal cases and 219,565 persons were cleared.
Vehicles verification Service checked 3,568 vehicles, stolen/FIR/NCP vehicles were 09.
Emergency help call received 45 calls, tinted glasses were removed from 28 vehicles, SVEP inspections arranged 2645 meetings.
