The Consulate General of Pakistan in Vancouver hosted the “Pakistan-Canada Innovation Corridor” networking event in collaboration with the Pakistan-Canada Trade Association.
The post-web summit 2026 event was attended by representatives of Pakistani technology companies, Canadian entrepreneurs, media and Pakistani-Canadian business community, a press release, Saturday, said.
Welcoming the participants, Consul General Shahzad Hussain said that Pakistan’s participation in Web Summit Vancouver 2026 provided the Pakistani IT companies exposure to North America and particularly the Canadian market.
He acknowledged the support of the Pakistan Software Export Board in sponsoring the delegation.
Altamash Janjua, Trade and Investment Counsellor, briefed the participants on prospects for Pakistan-Canada collaboration in the IT sector.
He said that Pakistan’s IT sector, an important driver of economic growth and export diversification, expected total global exports to reach up to US$4.6 billion in 2026.
The participants shared ideas on strengthening trade, technology, investment and innovation linkages between Pakistan and Canada.
The panel discussion highlighted the growing potential for cooperation in AI, FinTech and other IT-enabled services.
The engaging networking event provided an added opportunity to the visiting Pakistani companies to explore partnerships and joint ventures, besides their fruitful engagements with Canadian and other foreign firms during the Web Summit 2026.
