KHYBER : To impart knowledge pertaining polio, an awareness walk was carried out here in main Bazaar Landi Kotal on Friday.
The activity was organized by the local administration and was attended by Assistant Commissioner,Landi Kotal Muhammad Imran Yousafzai,president Anjuman-e-Tajeran Landi Kotal Bazaar, officials of health department, World Health Organization(WHO)United Nation International Children Fund(UNICEF) Chip Training Consultant(CTC) and member of civil society.
Speaking on the occasion AC,Muhammad Imran Yousafzai said that the purpose of the walk was to inform the masses to vaccinate their children below five years so that to eliminate the crippling disease.
With joint efforts we can get rid of the cures he added and said all necessary actions will be made to control the polio in the country.
He urged the parents to join hands with them to wipe out polio from Pakistan.
The participants marched while holding placards inscribed with slogans of eradication of the polio, marched from Bacha Khan chawk to in front of Landi Kotal press club where they dispersed peacefully.
