District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda Riffat Ullah Khan (PSP) on Sunday visited the shrine of Shaheed-ul-Hadith Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Idris, offered fateha and prayed for the departed soul, the elevation of his ranks and lasting peace in the country.
During the visit, the DPO also went to the residence of the late scholar, met members of his family and expressed condolences. He paid rich tribute to Maulana Idris for his services to the promotion of Islam, education and social reform.
“Maulana Muhammad Idris rendered invaluable services for the propagation of Deen, education and moral reformation of society. His contributions will always be remembered with respect,” Mr Khan said.
Later, the DPO visited the seminary of prominent religious scholar Mufti Abdullah Shah. In a detailed meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, the current law and order situation, social harmony, moral training of the youth and ways to strengthen cooperation between the ulema and police to curb crime.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Khan said the role of religious scholars was vital for establishing sustainable peace, brotherhood and the rule of law in society.
“Charsadda police, with the support of the public, ulema and all schools of thought, will continue to fulfill its responsibilities to ensure peace and to protect the life and property of citizens,” he added.
