Torkham clearing agents association continued their protest on the second day on Tuesday to raise voice against the Federal and custom authorities.
Talking to media Torkham clearing agent Qari Nazeem Gul said that they would continue their strike until FBR and custom authorities not take back their unnecessary conditions imposed on traders. He said they would not call off of the atrike on the Khyber Chamber of comerace announcement as it was a pupit body for FBR. He said Khyber chamber wanted to use Torkham custom clearing agents for their own benefits whuch would not be fulfilled.
Nazeem Gul said it was a drama played by Khyber Chamber of Commerace for which he could only say sorry. He said the prime objective of their strike was to bring an ease for traders and transporters who were involved in import and expport between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
“We will conduct a protest demonstration at the front of Khyber chamber office in Torkham as its members played a one sided role as traitor”’, Qari Nazeem Gul said.
He urged the Torkham clearing agents to be patient and continue their strike.
Meanwhile, hundreds of loaded and empty trucks stranded on both sides of the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan due to the clearing agents strike.
