CCPO Abbas Ahsan has said that Dispute Resolution Council (DRC) to be extended to former FR regions with best possible facilitation for its members.
CCPO initially started DRC in Kohi Hassan Khel area of former FR Peshawar.
In this connection a ceremony held in which SSP Operations Yasir Afridi, SP President Waqar Khan, SP Cantt Tahir Shah Wazir, SP City Atiq Shah, DSP Badhaber Malik Habib and other police officers were present on the occasion.
DRC members and local dignitaries were also present
Addressing the participants on the occasion, CCPO Abbas Ahsan said that after the success of DRC councils in Peshawar city, the suburbs of the city are being extended to the areas of Badaber and Mathura and then to the areas of former FR Peshawar.
Initially, a DRC center has been set up in Kohi Hassan Khel, he said, adding that the DRC councils formed as a result of the revolutionary initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police include property disputes, money transactions, domestic disputes and other issues.
Millions of issues and disputes have been resolved amicably through mutual consultation and consent of the parties, which is a testament to the success of the DRC Councils.
The CCPO added that the Hassan Khel DRC Council would help resolve the problems and disputes of the residents of the area in accordance with Pakhtun traditions, which would provide cheap and speedy justice to the residents of Kohi Hassan Khel at their doorsteps.
