Special Assistant to CM for Information and Higher Education Kamran Khan Bangash Thursday stressed on the need for maximum tree plantation besides developing the provincial capital Peshawar, beautification of its parks and environmental improvement. He at the same time, directed the authorities to take concrete steps for promoting sports, especially for the women folk, in the historic city. He vehemently clarified that Peshawar is the home of all people from across the province and its development is the joint responsibility of all of us.
He was presiding over a meeting on urban beauty here in Peshawar, which was specially attended by Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud and Secretary Information and Public Relations Arshad Khan.
Kamran Bangash thanked the Commissioner Peshawar for his keen interest in the development schemes and promotion of sports in the provincial capital adding that revival of polo tournaments in Peshawar besides other sports was a need of time.
Kamran Bangash said that In the past, the polo ground in Peshawar witnessed international polo tournament between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which Pakistan won after a thrilling contest, and the people of Peshawar celebrated the victory. Afghan Refugees based in Peshawar also watched and enjoyed the matches.
“The establishment of a separate gymnasium for women athletes in Peshawar is also very important for which vivid progress must be shown on part of the executing authorities”, he ordered.
Kamran Bangash also stressed the need to develop communication system out and downtown the city including early completion of the Peshawar Beautification Plan, Peshawar Uplift Project and glamarising all the city parks as well as extensive works on the Northern Bypass to meet the public needs of the next several decades. He expressed the hope that oncrete steps will be taken in this regard and henceforth the people of Peshawar will benefit from its fruits, he added.
Commissioner Peshawar assured to continue strenuous efforts for the development of the city and to cherish all development projects through round the clock works on it.
