PESHAWAR
The residents of the provincial capital on Wednesday appealed to Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to take pragmatic steps for natural gas restoration to domestic consumers.
Talking to reporter, Syed Alam of Lahori-Gate shared that low gas pressure and unannounced gas load-shedding in most parts of the city has created problems for the domestic users especially in morning time from the beginning of the winter.
He complained that cooking food, particularly preparing breakfast and dinner had become a difficult task for the families in the winter.
A number of residents shared that shortage of gas facilities had made life miserable for the people but the relevant department and the provincial government seemed oblivious to resolve the crisis.
It has become difficult to earn a living for the last one week due to lack of gas in different parts of the city like Ganj, Yaka Tut, Banamari Lahory, Gulbahar Waliabad, Zargarabad, Sheikhabad and others parts of Peshawar they added. Lack of natural gas supply and low pressure had hit-hard the provincial capital hard and the most affected people are domestic gas consumers.
The women face problems with preparing breakfast and cooking meals, which is greatly affecting domestic routines in houses and business activities in the markets.
A retired government official regretted that CM Mahmood Khan had ordered the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline (SNGPL) to resolve the gas low-pressure issue in Peshawar but no action was taken.
