CTD kills three alleged terrorists in Peshawar

Three terrorists were killed during an exchange of fire with police in the limits of Faqirabad Police Station here on Monday.
According to details, the gunfight broke out when the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other police personnel conducted a joint operation based on an intelligence tip-off in Faqeerabad area.
On seeing the personnel, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on them and in the ensuing shootout, three militants were killed, said the CTD.
The killed terrorists were involved in heinous crimes, including targeted killing of security forces and other acts of terrorism, said police, adding that a huge cache of arms and ammunition were seized from their possession.
CCPO Ahsan Abbas told reporters that the main target of the terrorists killed in the encounter was policemen.
He revealed that the terrorists were involved in targeted killings extortion in the provincial capital.
Mr Abbas further said that evidence has been found that the terrorists were living in Urmor Qaza Kalay, and other parts, adding that investigation was underway in this connection.
