ANP emerges as Mardan’s biggest party after LB polls

Awami National Party (ANP) has emerged as biggest party in Mardan district by gaining 60 chairman seats on different NCs and VCs in recent Local Body Polls, while JUI-F gained 48 seats and emerged second big party.
According to Online, independent candidates won 88 seats while ruling party PTI could bag only 8 seats in Mardan district.
In tehsil Mardan, ANP gained 33 chairman seats, 7 in tehsil Takhatbhai, 3 in tehsil Rustam, 9 in tehsil Katlang, and 8 seats in tehsil Garhi Kapura.
It may be noted that in the 2018 general election PTI gained 215,595 votes in Mardan district, ANP gained 144,728 votes and JUI-F gained 74,679 votes. However in local government election JUI-F has increased its vote bank to 160,579 and PTI decreased to 94,285 and ANP also deceased it vote to 123,227.
