Swat: Secretary Information Arshad Khan has said that steps are being taken on priority basis for the problems of press clubs and Journalists of Malakand division for which the present government will allocate a huge amount in the next budget which will reduce the miseries of Journalists. He was talking to the delegation of Al Malakand Division Union of Journalists headed by Shahzad Alam, Shah Faisal Afghani, President of Chakdara Press Club, Hanifullah from Lower Dir, Jamil Roghani from Upper Dir, Hasbanullah from Bajaur, Murad Ali Khan and Haroon Siraj from Swat were also present. Union President Shahzad Alam and General Secretary Shah Faisal Afghani gave a detailed briefing on the plight of Malakand Vision Journalists. On the occasion, Information Secretary Arshad Khan said that, the government is well aware of the plight of journalists across the province, including Malakand Division, and the steps taken by the government for the welfare of journalists are hardly in history, he said. Secretary said that Decoration including construction works and renovation work has almost been completed at a cost of billion of rupees while in the second phase of the new financial year renovation work will be started in the District Press Clubs to alleviate the hardship of journalists, he said. Information Advisor Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif is working to alleviate the plight of journalists across the province and with the special efforts of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan a huge fund is being allocated for the welfare of journalists in the budget of the new financial year. He further went on saying that billions of rupees have been spent by provincial government for the welfare of journalists and providing them housing facilities at Media Town to provide accommodation facilities to the journalists across the districts.
