Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawa Bhutto Zardari Saturday sarcastically referred to the increase in petroleum prices by the government as a “New Year’s gift” from the prime minister for the people.
In a statement on Saturday, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari severely criticized PTI-led government for recent mini-budget and increase in prices of petroleum goods.
“During the PPP’s last government, there was the worst global economic crisis but we did not allow the people to bear the burden of inflation.” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said.
He said that the only way to get rid of ever increasing inflation was to eliminate PTI-led government.
He said the premier had claimed that 2021 would be a year of prosperity but “2022 has now arrived [so] where did that claim of prosperity go?”
