Police claimed to foiled drugs smuggling bid and arrested a smuggler here on Friday.
According to details Police Station Chamkani after receiving a tip regarding the smuggling of a huge consignment of narcotics through a vehicle to Punjab tightened checking on motorway blockade recovered 17 high quality of Hashish during the checking.
Police also arrested the alleged smuggler indentified as Niaz Wali resident of tribal district Bajaur. Police also claimed that the suspect has strong connection with inter-provincial smuggling gang and has confessed its crime during preliminary investigation.
A narcotics’ smuggling case has been registered against the alleged smuggler and further investigation was in progress in this regard, said police.
