Accelerating digital transformation
PESHAWAR
Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed on Friday formally launched the KP Cop App, describing it as a major step towards the digital transformation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police.
The app was inaugurated during a ceremony at the Central Police Office in Peshawar.
According to a police spokesperson, the digital platform has been developed to modernise police administration, improve operational efficiency, and enhance welfare services for police personnel.
During the ceremony, DIG IT Ijaz Ahmad briefed participants on the app’s features, saying it would connect around 126,000 police officers and personnel through a secure digital platform.
The application includes a QR code-based digital service card linked with the Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS), access to service records, digital duty rosters, inventory management, official weapons and equipment records, real-time transfer and posting notifications, command directives, and an online complaint management system.
Officials said the app also features KPol Cam, enabling officers to transmit live videos of incidents directly to the Safe City Control Room, while an SOS alert system will facilitate rapid response during emergencies.
It also provides secure communication channels for sharing sensitive information with senior police leadership.
Speaking on the occasion, Zulfiqar Hameed said the KP Cop App would promote transparency, accountability, effective command and control, faster decision-making, and improved internal communication and welfare services.
He reaffirmed the police department’s commitment to expanding the use of modern technology and governance reforms to build a more professional, efficient, and public-friendly police force.
