FIA-Cyber Crime Wing organizes seminar on cyber crimes at KMC

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing has launched a nationwide awareness campaign regarding the prevention of increasing cyber crimes rate due to the negligence and misuses of social media in the society.
This was stated by Deputy Director Cyber Crime Wing FIA Muhammad Akram at cyber crimes awareness seminar organized by FIA at Khyber Medical College Peshawar here on Wednesday.
Among the speakers were Muhammad Akram, Deputy Director, Cyber Crime Wing, FIA, Fahad Durrani, Assistant Director and Faqir Hassan, in-charge of forensics.
According to Deputy Director Muhammad Akram, a total of 159189 cyber crime complaints have been received from 2018 to 2020.
The speakers provided information on how to make computers, laptops and cell phones more secure, how to prevent mishaps and digital forensics.
The Chief Guest of the event Dr Mahmud Aurangzeb Dean KMC said that most of the social media users did not know about the digital age advantage and disadvantage.
He thanked the FIA’s cyber crime team for providing basic information regarding cyber crimes, adding that KMC works on a team which will take training in digital forensics and cyber crime from FIA cyber crime wing.
