Director General Safe City/Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya chaired a high-level meeting to review measures aimed at improving parking facilities and traffic management across the federal capital.
An official told APP on Tuesday that the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Safe City Capt. (R) Hamzah Humayun, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Kainat Azhar, and officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
He said participants discussed allocating designated parking spaces at public places in collaboration with the CDA to address parking-related issues in the city.
The meeting also reviewed matters relating to traffic signals, road signboards and lane markings to improve enforcement of traffic laws and facilitate road users.
DG Haroon Joiya directed the relevant departments to strengthen coordination and expedite measures to improve traffic infrastructure and ensure smoother traffic flow.
The official added that the initiative would help promote better traffic discipline, reduce congestion and provide greater convenience to citizens across Islamabad.
