Govt’s claim of no inflation in country is shameful, says Sherry Rehman

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman has said that despite the fact that the inflation rate in the country has reached its highest level in two years, the government is claiming that there is no inflation which is shameful.

In a twitter message, Sherry Rehman said that with an increase of 0.39 per cent, the inflation rate is now 13 per cent.
Sherry Rehman said that on an annual basis, the price of cooking oil has gone up by 54.33 per cent, pulses by 41.3 per cent and electricity tariff by 56 per cent.

She said that the price of petrol has gone up by Rs. 35 per liter and diesel by Rs 30 per liter.

In the first seven months of the financial year, the price of petrol has gone up by Rs 35 per liter and diesel by Rs 30 per liter.

She said that the tsunami of inflation is not going away that within a year, the health sector has gone up by 9.15%. How can they claim that there is no inflation in the country? She said.
